BASIC COOKER That WORKS GREAT, August 3, 2009 By This review is from: Hamilton Beach 33141 4 Quart Slow Cooker This is a very attractive but very basic cooker. What I mean by that is it has nothing digital on it, no timer, no temperature gauge not even a power light "which would have been nice". It has a hand knob with off, warm, low and high on it, nice and simple. It has a heavy crock that fits inside and an attractive glass cover. It also has a very attractive silver and black exterior. It does not take up very much room on our counter top, just a little more than a loaf of bread. In fact that is what we store in it when it's not in use. The price from this vender seems high with the shipping charge. If you check around you will probably find a better price on this.
This oval cooker will hold a larger piece of meat in it as apposed to a round one of a comparable size. It really does not have to be watched when cooking. The heat comes from around the sides instead of the bottem, so nothing to burn on the bottem. Meat comes out more tender by cooking it on low for a longer period... Read more
